Residual Oil Recovery Potential in the Cooper Basin
Engineering Honours Degree, 2005
University of Adelaide
The aim of this project is to indicate the technical feasibility of utilising a miscible CO2 flood to recover a large quantity of residual oil. This study will scope out a range of minimum miscibility pressures (MMP) required for a successful CO2 flood, how much the oil will swell on CO2 application by simulated swelling tests and the estimated recovery factor of this oil by simulated Slim Tube experiment.
The report shall include recommendation suggestions as to the feasibility of the project and indicate key areas where further studies should be focused.
